  • New Jersey Transit buses 99 and 39 stop on Bergen Street one half block from the branch.
  • Bus 27 stops on Hawthorne Avenue.
  • Bus 13 stops on Clinton Avenue.

The Clinton Branch opened its doors seventy-six years ago on December 2, 1925, and was the fourth branch of The Newark Public Library system to open. The Library serves the Clinton Hill section of the South Ward. It is located in a predominately residential area with many small businesses stationed throughout the neighborhood.

The Clinton Branch Library, still in its original state, is a two-story facility. The exterior, wood and brick architecture is a reminder of the old, well-constructed buildings in Newark. The interior is separated into a two-story operation, with the adult section on the first floor, and the children's room on the second floor.
