The Victoria Technology Center is located on the third floor of the Main Library and is open regular library hours.
Software called SAM™ automates the sign–in process and tracks your time on the computer. Patrons with library cards will use their cards for both signing in and for printing. Patrons without library cards will use a guest pass, available at the desk in the Victoria Technology Center, for sign–in and printing.
Sessions are limited to one hour, with a maximum of two sign-ins per day. At the conclusion of your session, you may sign up for another session after an hour wait.
Earbuds are available for purchase for $2.00
Printing and downloading:
You may also choose to save your work to a flash drive. Flash drives are available for purchase for $9.00.
Assistance from staff:
The Victoria Technology Center is made possible by a grant from the Victoria Foundation.
Computers and Internet access are available in all children's rooms. Word processing for children is also available on the computers in the Main Library children's room. Sessions are limited to 1/2 hour when others are waiting. Parents and guardians are encouraged to monitor their children's Internet use.
All of the branches have Wi–Fi and computers for public use. The number of computers varies from branch to branch. Computer sessions are limited to 1/2 hour when there is a waiting list, with a maximum of two sessions per day. Patrons must wait 1/2 hour after their first session ends before signing up for a second session. Black and white printing is available at all locations. Some locations also have color printers. The branches do not use the SAM™ system. Prints are paid for in cash and the credit loaded to library cards cannot be used in the branches. Discs, but not flash drives, are sold at the branches. Call or visit your local branch for more information.
