Stories & Songs of Latin America October 25, 2008 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Felix Pitre as he shares many of the Hispanic traditions that were passed down to him from his own family, bringing to life the culture of Latin America with puppetry, stories, songs, instruments, and dance. This program is performed in English interwoven with Spanish words and phrases. Presented by Theatreworks USA.

Goowin’s Balloons – Fall Fest November 15, 2008 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Join balloon artist, Allynn Gooen as he invites the audience to participate in a zany balloon story celebrating the arrival of Fall and Thanksgiving. Presented by Encore Performing Arts, Inc.

Caribbean Holiday December 6, 2008 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Welcome winter and the holiday season with TAINO as they take the audience on a musical journey visiting several Caribbean countries sharing their holiday festivities with music, costumes, history and culture. Presented by encore Performing Arts, Inc.

African Folk Tales January 24, 2009 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Inspired by Anansi the Spider and other stories, the folk traditions of Africa are introduced in this delectable program of stories, dance, mime, music, and audience participation. Tales include Anansi and the Box of Stories, the Possum and the Snake, Why Monkeys Live in Trees, How the Zebra Got His Stripes, and much more! Presented by Theatreworks USA.

Fire on the Mountain February 21, 2009 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Journey with Alemayu, a young shepherd boy, through the mountains as he searches for his sister and learns life’s lessons of character, honesty, courage and love. Award-winning children’s author Jane Kurtz first brought this tale to American readers after hearing it while growing up in Ethiopia. The rich cultural heritage of this African region influences the music, staging, costuming and scenery in this wonderful, uplifting new musical by Flying Ship Productions. Presented by Encore Performing Arts, Inc.

Super Circus Stuff March 21, 2009 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Thrill to the circus skills of Mr. Fish and Lisa Lou as they present a two-person show full of comedy, excitement and audience participation while performing a variety of exciting circus routines. Presented by Encore Performing Arts, Inc.

Transformation – Stories for Earth Day April 18, 2009 – 2:00 pm Fourth Floor Auditorium Christopher Agostino presents Voices of the Earth, a program of traditional folktales and original stories, illustrated by his amazing face painting on audience volunteers. In a playful storytelling style combined with mask and makeup art from world cultures that tell ecology tales, he creates a unique performance to completely engage any audience.

Reading Is Cool – The Magic of Books May 2, 2009 – 2:00 pm Centennial Hall - 2nd Floor Master magician, Jim Vagias, combines magic, humor, storytelling, and audience participation to motivate young people (adults, too!) to turn them onto books and reading and explore the library, the most magical place of all!
