A Celebration of His Life and Legacy

Charles F. Cummings, Assistant Director of Special Collections and Statewide Outreach, passed away on December 21 after a brief illness. A valued employee since joining the Newark Public Library on July 15, 1963, he was recognized as the Newark City Historian.

Tributes

Tributes to Mr. Cummings included an adaptation of W.H. Auden's poem Funeral Blues by Elizabeth DelTufo, music sung by the Newark Boys Chorus, and a plaque and renaming of the New Jersey Information Center in honor of Mr. Cummings.
