Newark Public Library adds programs to
April schedule The Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street, has added several programs to its schedule for April. All of the events are free and open to the public. For more information call the number listed with the program description, or visit the library’s home page at www.npl.org for adult programs and www.npl.org/Pages/KidsPlace/calendar.html for children’s programs. The Clinton branch library, 739 Bergen Street, 973-733-7754, will hold three programs that begin at 3:30pm, at which "all ages" are welcome. Materials are provided for craft programs. On Monday, April 10, there will be a craft program in which colorful springtime bunnies will be made and turned into necklaces, bracelets, anklets and frames. On Thursday, April 13, patrons can make "baskets" and gifts; they will fill their baskets with "goodies." A "Spring Artists at Large" event will take place on Wednesday, April 26. There will be hands-on activities and art celebrating spring; photos, paintings and crafts will be made. The Springfield branch library, 50 Hayes Street, 973-733-7736, invites high school juniors, seniors, and their parents to a college fair for "procrastinators" on Wednesday, April 12, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event is intended for those who have not yet applied to colleges or completed financial and scholarship forms. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet recruiters from Essex County College, Delaware State, William Paterson University, Bloomfield College, Norfolk State, Fairleigh Dickinson, New Jersey City State College, Rider University, US Navy, US Army, Lincoln Tech., Felician, Shaw, University of Florida, Union County College, Berkeley College, and NJIT.
