Library announces “bookmark contest” winners

The Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street, announced the winners of its recent “Create A Bookmark” contest that was held during National Children’s Book Week. The winners, with their branch-library affiliation noted in parentheses, were:

Grades K to 3:
Marco Tueros (Branch Brook), 1st place
Porsha Thompson (Springfield), 2nd place
Bridgette Gomez (Branch Brook) 3rd place
Honorable mentions were Miranda Romero (Branch Brook) and Samantha Cortez (Branch Brook).

Grades 4 to 8:
Nicole Thompson (Springfield), 1st place
Alneesa Ismail (Springfield), 2nd place
Tykia Nails (Vailsburg), 3rd place
Honorable mentions were Christina Anderson (Clinton) and Amauri Nickerson (Clinton).
