Newark Public Library announces programs for Frances E.W. Harper Literary Society; concludes summer hours The Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street, has concluded its summer operating schedule. The current hours for the Main Library are 9:00am to 5:30pm on Monday, Friday and Saturday; 9:00am to 8:30pm on Tuesday through Thursday. Branch library hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday; and 9:30am to 1:30pm on Saturday. For more information, visit www.npl.org. The Frances E.W. Harper Literary Society, which discusses books on the African Diaspora, has announced its schedule for the coming season. On Saturday, September 15, from noon to 1:00pm, it will hold a registration-information session in the Main Library’s first-floor James Brown African-American room.
