Newark Public Library sponsors golf fundraiser, Sets summer hours

On Tuesday, July 11, The Newark Public Library, 5 Washington Street, will hold its annual "Book Classic" golf tournament fundraiser at the prestigious Plainfield Country Club in Edison, New Jersey. (Donald Ross designed the course.) Reservations are required for this event, which begins with lunch at noon, followed by a 1:30pm tee off. A cocktail reception begins at 6:30pm. Proceeds from the "Book Classic" will benefit the Library’s 2006 Annual Fund Campaign—the fund that guarantees access to cultural, educational and informational resources to all who seek them, free of charge. The Library has set its summer-hours schedule, which begins on Monday, June 26 and ends on Saturday, September 9. The Main Library will be open from 9:00am to 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; from 9:00am to 8:30pm on Wednesday; and from 9:30am to 1:30pm on Saturday. The branch libraries will be open from 9:30am to 5:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; from 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday; and from 9:30am to 1:30pm on Saturday.
