Book Signing Slated for Coffee Table Publication: Remembering Newark’s Greeks Little is left of many of the immigrant neighborhoods that helped shape the City of Newark in the dawning stages of the 20th century. Yet one of these communities is very much alive in a new book Remembering Newark’s Greeks: An American Odyssey, whose author Angelique Lampros of West Orange captures the essence of those immigrants who came to New Jersey’s largest city, worked in menial jobs and became small business ownersall contributing to the vitality and character of mid-century Newark. The stunning coffee table publication evokes the Greek experience in Newark though the voices of immigrants and their children, along with cherished photographs, documents and memorabilia. Lampros, a Newark native, will sign her tribute to Newark’s Greeks on Thursday, November 30, 2006, 6:00 p.m. at Snuffy’s Pantagis Renaissance, 250 Park Avenue (off Route 22), Scotch Plains.
