On Saturday, August 16, 2008, the Newark Public Library held an awards ceremony at the Main Library's Centennial Hall to celebrate the accomplishments and honor the participants in this summer's Prudential Foundation Summer Reading Challenge.
Our readers, who all read at least five books during the challenge, received certificates of achievement in reading, as well as additional prizes for the top readers at each branch.
Winners of the Summer Reading Challenge poster contest were also awarded special ribbons for their artistic achievement.
