On Friday, February 15, 2008, the noted Montclair mystery writer Valerie Wilson Wesley held a discussion and signing of her latest book in the Tamara Hayle series, Of Blood and Sorrow.

Wesley’s public investigator heroine is a powerful Newark businesswoman with a teenage son. In the newest novel, the youth witnesses a brutal murder and becomes the prime suspect, setting Tamara’s world in turmoil.
A graduate of Howard University with master’s degrees from Bank Street College of Education and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Wesley is the author of seven other Tamara Hayle mysteries, as well as three novels and the Willimena Rules! books for children. She was formerly executive editor of Essence magazine.
