Library resumes "Club Success"
Press Release 10/29/99
The Newark Public Library announced the resumption of its popular "Club Success" program, which offers Newark
students in grades one through eight focused and aggressive assistance with their homework. The program
will continue through the school year. It again is funded by grants from The Newark Public Schools and The Geraldine R.
Dodge Foundation.
There are no fees or academic requirements to join "Club Success." The clubs meet Mondays through Thursdays. A team of
library and school employees, consultants, and community volunteers manage the program. Michele Cappetta, youth services
coordinator, stated the clubs also are seeking volunteer "junior tutors" to assist the licensed teachers who provide the homework
assistance.
