A cookbook, entitled Restaurant Secrets, is available for sale from The Newark Public Library. This hardcover, professionally illustrated and photographed book offers recipes and cooking secrets from top chefs from New Jersey and across the country. The seventy-plus-page cookbook is divided into six sections: Measurements and Equivalents; Substitutions; Wine Suggestions; Herbs, Spices and Aromatics; Glossary of Terms; and "Coach the Cook" helpful suggestions. A coupon book for north Jersey restaurants ($290 value) accompanies Restaurant Secrets. Proceeds from the sale go toward the matching funds for the library’s National Endowment for the Humanities challenge grant.

Individuals may pick up a copy of the cookbook from the library’s Development Department, located on the fourth floor of the main library, 5 Washington Street. Cost is $20. Or they may receive a copy by mail for $22.50, by printing their name and mailing address on a piece of paper and sending it with their check to the library, in care of the Development Department, PO Box 630, Newark, NJ 07101-0630. Checks should be made out to The Newark Public Library.
