Photos from the 2007 Opening Reception for The Irish in Newark and New Jersey
March 15, 2007

On Thursday, March 15, the Library held a reception for the opening of its exhibit The Irish in Newark and New Jersey, running from March 14 - May 11, 2007. The exhibit is co-sponsored by Msgr. William Noé Field Archives & Special Collections Center of Seton Hall University, and a generous grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities provided funding.

Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin, the honorary chair of the Exhibition Committee , Sue Pai Yang of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, Brad Small, librarian and co-curator of the exhibit, and Dr. Dermot Quinn, guest curator and professor of Irish and British history at Seton Hall University, all addressed the audience.

The McGlone family provided wonderful bagpipe music, and Ceili Country entertained the audience with Irish music. Dancers from the Schade Academy of Irish Dance added to the festivities, performing two dances.
