Newark Public Library hosts Medicare Internet session for seniors
Press Release 10/29/99
The Newark Public Library will host a Medicare Internet session for seniors in its Technology Training
Center on Friday, November 19, from 10am to noon. The event is designed to help Medicare
beneficiaries learn how to access information about their benefits by using the Web site
www.medicare.gov. The site enables recipients and the people who help them make health care
decisions to access updated information about their individual Medicare plan options and choices at the
click of a button. The program will be presented by the Health Care Financing Administration.
Medicare beneficiaries may also get detailed coverage and plan information by calling the Medicare
Choices Helpline at (800) 633-4227.
The library is hosting the program as part of its initiative to ensure its patrons have free and convenient
access to electronic information. The Technology Training Center is located on the third floor of the main
library, 5 Washington Street. The program is free and open to all seniors.
