Madison branch library reopens
Press Release 3/24/99
The Madison branch of The Newark Public Library has reopened after being closed for renovation. An "open house" will be held on Wednesday, March 31, from 2:30pm to 7pm. The branch is located at 790 Clinton Avenue.
"It is a pleasure to welcome the community back to one of our branch libraries," said Dr. Alex Boyd, library director. "I am confident that the improvements will please the residents of the Madison area. We hope to see everyone in the neighborhood at our March 31st open house festivities."
Upon approaching the facility, patrons will notice the exterior has a new facade. Once inside, they will see the interior has been redecorated. A new circulation desk has been installed; the lavatory has been remodeled; new technology has been installed; and security has been improved through the installation of a pull-down window guard.
"With funds from the Newark Public Schools," noted Wilma Grey, assistant director for community library services, "we also were able to upgrade the book collection."
The branch's operating schedule is
| Monday, Tuesday | 9:30am to 5:30pm
| | Wednesday | 1pm to 8pm
| | Thursday, Friday | 9:30am to 5:30pm
| | Saturday | 9:30am to 1:30pm |
