New York Times best-selling author, award-winning poet, and professor Carole Boston Weatherford's latest book, Becoming Billie Holiday is a fictional verse memoir of Billie Holiday's early life. The author will read original poems inspired by Billie Holiday's songbook, and sign copies of her book.

Carole Boston Weatherford has authored thirty-two books, including Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom, winner of an NAACP Image Award, Caldecott Honor Medal, and Coretta Scott King Award for Illustration. Birmingham, 1963 won the Jefferson Cup, Lee Bennett Hopkins Poetry Award, and a Jane Addams Children's Literature Honor.
