Friends set dates for 1999 Book Sale; need volunteersThe Friends will be holding their Seventh Annual Book Sale from April 8 to 10; a members-only pre-sale is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, from 5:30 to 8pm. Dates/times for the "public" sale are Thursday, April 8, from 11am to 8pm; Friday, April 9, from 9:30am to 4pm; and Saturday, April 10, from 9:30am to 4pm. Those who are not current dues-paying Friends members may join the organization the evening of April 7 to gain access to the members-only pre-sale. The sale will feature hard-cover books, paperbacks, records, video tapes, cassette tapes, CDs, and posters. Those wishing to donate items (no magazines or "condensed" books, please), in good, sellable condition, are asked to wait until March (due to limited storage space) before bringing them to the Main Library. In addition to material donations, Jerry Caprio, 1999 Book Sale Chair, is seeking volunteersindividuals and organizationsto help sort the sale items before, during, and after the event. Those wishing to volunteer should leave a message for Jerry at the Library, in care of Charles F. Cummings, by calling (973) 733-7734. |
