Library plans two fundraisersThe Library is planning two fundraisers for the Spring. Both are part of a major campaign to secure $300,000 in matching funds for the grant we received from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). One event is the Second Annual Gourmet Gala. Last year's taste-treat raised more than $25,000 towards the NEH grant. This year's black-tie affair is scheduled for March 29, again at The Manor in West Orange. The evening's agenda includes a 7pm cocktail hour, an 8pm sit-down dinner at which several of New Jersey's finest restaurants will present their award-winning specialties, a silent auction, and an awards presentation for continuous contributions to academic and cultural development. The Peter Duchin Orchestra will provide the entertainment. Ticket price is $150; or $2,000 for a table of ten. The second event is a benefit concert to be held at the NJPAC in May (date to be determined). PSE&G and The Prudential Insurance Company are co-sponsoring the fundraiser. To find out more about the benefit concert, or to pledge your support for either event by purchasing tickets or an advertisement in the evenings' program books, please call Nancy Allen (the Development Department) at (973) 733-7837. |
