Gourmet Gala a tasteful success Barbara J. Kukla, Editor of the Star-Ledger’s NEWARK THIS WEEK section; Charles F. Cummings, Library Assistant Director; Alberto Coutinho, Trustee President On March 29, the Library held its second Gourmet Gala to raise matching funds for the National Endowment for the Humanities challenge grant. This year’s event saluted Rick Cerone–owner of the new Newark Bears baseball team–for making a significant contribution to Newark and to sports. The evening proved to be another financial success. The Library extends a thank you to everyone, especially to the restaurants that provided the culinary delights: The Dining Room at the Short Hills Hilton, The Manor, Highlawn Pavilion, Pleasantdale Chateau, Sinclair, and Arugla.
