Treasures of the Library Heidi Cramer The focus in this installment of a continuing series of articles on the Library’s treasures is on Heidi Cramer, Senior Librarian, a staff member since 1995. She is one of the “new” generation of librarians trained at the graduate level in new communication and information technologies as well as in the traditional areas of library resources and services. In addition to providing reference and electronic collection-development services in the Main Library’s Arts & Humanities Center, Heidi is our Web site coordinator. She designs and maintains the content for our site (www.npl.org), which recently was awarded second place for “Best Library Web Site” by the New Jersey Library Association. She is a prime player in the Library’s public technology training program, teaching courses for adults and children, as well as working with staff members to develop new courses for those searching for business, consumer, government, health and arts information on the Internet. Heidi graduated magna cum laude from East Stroudsburg University; her Master’s degree in Information and Library Science is from Rutgers University. She is Vice President/President Elect of the Reference Section of the New Jersey Library Association. Articles by Heidi have appeared in several library/technical publications.
