Forthcoming exhibitions A number of exhibitions are planned for the first half of 2000. The list includes: African-American Firsts: Lest We Forget, January 10 through March 4, Second-Floor Gallery The Essential Calendar, January 10 through April 29, Third-Floor Gallery Women Artists, March 9 through April 29, Second-Floor Gallery Animal Prints, May 8 through June 30, Second- and Third-Floor Galleries Calendar exhibition through April. Charles F. Cummings, an Assistant Director at the Library, talks with novelist Philip Roth during the book festival in Aix-en-Provence, France, which saluted Roth and his native Newark. Cummings curated the accompanying exhibition, "What is Newark? Where is Newark?". For more information about the Library’s exhibitions, please call William J.
