The Second Century - The Newark Public Library

In celebration of “Library Card Sign-Up Month,” The Newark Public Library and IDT Corporation have joined together to promote the benefits of library services. Until December 31, 2000, adults can receive a free $10 prepaid IDT calling card through the IDT Reading Rewards program by either:

1. Registering (for the first time) for a new Newark Public Library card, or
2. Checking out three books on their existing card.

Howard Jonas, founder and CEO of IDT, said, “Libraries are essential to our information age. This exciting partnership with the Library is an excellent opportunity to offer to the neighborhoods of Newark both traditional and technology-based library services.”

Dr. Alex Boyd, Library Director, described the cooperative effort as “two agencies in the information field working together for the betterment of our community.”

Remember that anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Newark is eligible for a free Library card.
