News You Can Use
Now you can search four major local
and national newspapers with "Infotrac Custom Newspapers"--the Library’s
newest electronic database--thanks to a grant from the New Jersey State
Library. Selected dates and several search options are available for The New York Times, The Record,
The Philadelphia Inquirer and The
Washington Post. Users can print or email the full text articles. Newark
Public Library cardholders even have access to this database remotely.
Just go to the Library’s home page at www.npl.org and click on Internet and Electronic
Resources. Have your library card at hand, because you will need to type in the
barcode number found on the back. Also, the online archives of
selected dates for The Star-Ledger, The
Times of
Trenton and The
Jersey Journal are now available at all Library locations. Ask a librarian
for assistance because using it requires a password. The archives are full text,
and articles can be printed. For more information or assistance
with a search, call the Arts & Humanities Reference Desk at 733-7820, or
send an email to reference@npl.org.
