Adverse to verse?Valentine's Day is approaching. Nothing speaks romance more intensely than poetry. Those not gifted in verse composition can turn to volumes of poetry at the Library to select works that best express their feelings. The Library’s catalog (also accessible remotely at http://www.npl.org/Pages/Catalog/index.html) enables searches for books by subject, such as "Love poetry."
Patrons may also visit the Main Library’s Arts & Humanities Reference Desk, where a librarian can assist them in using a variety of resources, including the Columbia Granger Index to Poetry and the Index to Black Poetry, . . . or by using Poem Finder, an electronic tool that indexes some 750,000 titles and includes approximately 70,000 poems in its database.
