Library reopens Van Buren Branch More than 150 persons overflowed the new Community Meeting Room for the November 19 gala reception, which officially reopened the Van Buren Branch Library. The event marked the fourth branch library to undergo complete renovation and expansion. The other three are Springfield, Weequahic, and North End. In his remarks, Dr. Alex Boyd, Library Director, said: It is upon this foundation of spirit and support that we will continue to renovate the branch libraries and thus build a rich information environment and future for all of us. The next one scheduled for total revitalization is the Vailsburg Branch.
