Library announces "Create-A-Book Challenge" winners
Prizes were awarded to the top three winners and honorable mentions in each group. The first-place winners received special children's books and personal stereo cassette players courtesy of Panasonic Corporation. All participants received colorful "Reading Is Out of This World" theme bookmarks. Winning entries in the pre-K to grade 3 category were: ·1st PlaceA Fun Day at the Circus by Ana Espinal ·2nd PlaceThe Rabbit Who Ran Away by Timmy Murphy ·3rd PlaceThe Thanksgiving Dinner by Dana Carr ·Honorable mentions: The Trip to Atlantic City by Noel Maldonado, The Flying People by Shelbi-Kaye Wallace, and My Adventure With Santa Claus by Stephanie Gonzalez. Winners in grades 4 through 8 were: -1st PlaceThe Visitors by Alex Paz -2nd PlaceThe Talking House by Jessica Oliveira -3rd PlaceOne Cool Cat Who Loves Books by Alex Gonzalez -Honorable mentions: Lost in the Alpha Sector by Ricardo Pereira, The Richest Girl in the World by Susana Vieira, and Everything Is Talking to Me by Janice Delaney. |
