The Director's Journal
On behalf of The Newark Public Library, I would like to thank the Newark Public Schools and The Prudential Foundation for their generosity . . . providing an invaluable opportunity for all Newarkers, especially our children. I also take this opportunity to extend a special welcome to a new member of the Library's Board of Trustees: Joseph Yeadon. Mr. Yeadon is a certified public accountant, with offices in Newark and East Orange. To Mark A. Santangelo, departing Board Member, we express our appreciation for his devoted service to our Library. We thank him for his long-standing presence on the Board, and for all he has helped the Library accomplish. At the February 25 Board meeting, the following officers were elected for the 1998 calendar year:
