"Gourmet Gala" a delicious success This past May, the Library held a black-tie Gourmet Gala as a kickoff for our major fund-raising campaign to secure $300,000 in matching funds for the grant we received from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). All in attendance enjoyed themselves—as the accompanying photos show. In addition to thanking everyone for making it a financial success (the Gala raised more than $25,000), the Library extends a special “thank you” to the eight restaurants that provided the culinary delights: Auberge Swiss, The Manor, Highlawn Pavillion, Pleasantdale Chateau, Sestri Café, Sinclairs, Café Arugala, Perryville Inn. And thanks to Michael Zeiger, Admiral Wine Merchants, for supplying the wine. Another Gourmet Gala is planned for the end of March. More details will be forthcoming in the next issue of The Second Century.
