Since the opening of the Public Technology Center, he has been conducting Computer Literacy and Internet Navigation workshops in Spanish. For the last eight months, Juan has been doing extensive research and working closely with Alma Concep-ción, curator of this years Hispanic Heritage Celebration exhibition. In May, he was awarded the José Enrique Rodó Plaque, presented by the Association of Latin American Writers and Journalists, in recognition of his excellent work serving the Hispanic community. Juan was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico. He pursued undergraduate studies at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico, and he managed the first cooperative bookstore established in Puerto Rico.
