
Assemblyman Caraballo represents the 29th legislative District, which includes the Township of Hillside and most of the City of Newark. He was first elected to the Assembly in 1995 and has been re-elected six times. He is the Speaker Pro Tempore of the New Jersey Assembly and Chairs the Regulated Professions and Independent Authorities Committee. His legislative office is located in Newark. The Assemblyman attended New York University School of Law and has been a Professor of Law at Seton Hall University School of Law since 1975. He served as the Public Advocate and Public Defender for New Jersey from 1990 to 1992. Mr. Caraballo lives in Newark. He is married to Belinda Morton and has
three children, Nico, Milena and Marcus. He is also the proud protector of
Cooper, the family dog.
