Newark Public Library Kids' Place In the Spotlight

On Friday, August 27, New Jersey Nets forward #44 Keith Van Horn visited the Van Buren branch of The Newark Public Library for a Celebrity Read courtesy of the New Jersey Library Association and the Nets organization. The 6'10" forward was accompanied by 'Sly' the Nets mascot and read the book Stellaluna to the members of Van Buren's Summer Reading Challenge.

After reading to his fans, the University of Utah graduate and 1997 NBA Rookie of theYear stressed the benefits of a good education and reading, and he encouraged the kids to make the Library a regular place to visit. Keith also answered questions from the crowd and signed autographs.
