Donations of Books and Other Materials

The Library is unable to accept donations of general materials at this time.

For materials in one of the special categories below, please contact the appropriate department to discuss your donation. Where applicable, the Library requires a legal transfer of title through a Deed of Gift.

To donate historically significant materials relating to Newark or New Jersey, please contact The Charles F. Cummings New Jersey Information Center at njreference@npl.org or (973) 733-7775.

For historically significant materials relating to the Latino experience in New Jersey or materials in the Spanish language, please contact the New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center at njhric@npl.org or (973) 733–4791. For materials in Portuguese, please contact the Van Buren Branch Library at (973) 733-7750.

For donations of historically significant materials relating to the African American experience, please contact the James Brown African American Room at 973-733-5411 or dcolston@npl.org.
