Levels of Support
The Newark Public Library Ambassador Program is a group of community leaders who seek to promote philanthropy and service in the interest of the Library. These individuals are influencers, promoters and prominent leaders passionate about transforming our community.
We would like to invite you to join us as a leader in your professional and social circles. Our goal is to engage and connect change-makers as well as inspire philanthropic impact among new donors.
Members will have the opportunity to convene to celebrate the work of Newark Public Library and network with each other. You’ll also serve as true ambassadors to the Library, helping to spread the word about work that the Library does to strengthen our community, including programming and events.
Since 1889, The Newark Public Library has been an anchor institution in Newark. It is New Jersey’s most comprehensive public library, serving nearly 10,000 patrons per week and providing equal access for all to vast educational, cultural, literary, historical, and digital resources.
Today, with 8 locations throughout the city, the Library strives to transforms lives and strengthen communities through innovative services, stimulating programs, and inspiring collections.
The following benefits are available for three years for participants in the Ambassador program. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to renew their membership and continue to inspire excellence in leadership, engagement and philanthropy.
Newark Public Library takes pride in connecting our community members and partners. We would like to encourage you to do the same! Through our Ambassador Referral Program if you inspire five of your peers to join at any level, you will automatically be elevated to the next Ambassador level!

Enthusiast’s Circle $1,000
- Networking opportunities with Library leadership, fellow Ambassadors, and other community leaders
- Invitations to Library community events with special seating
- Recognition in the Library’s philanthropic community
- Opportunities to amplify your community connections
- Opportunities to host a cultivation event in collaboration with the Library
- A signature NPL Ambassador Pin
Advocate’s Circle $3,000
Receive all of the above benefits plus a 10% discount at the Newark Public Library store and special invitations to Library-hosted Ambassador-only events – a great way to network within your community.
Visionary’s Circle $5,000
Receive all of the above benefits plus invitations to Library-sponsored speaking engagements including Breakfast with the Director and an annual Ambassador excursion.
Promoter’s Circle $7,000
Receive all of the above benefits plus one ticket and exclusive seating at our Annual Gala event and the opportunity to help plan the annual Ambassador excursion.
Champion’s Circle $10,000
Receive all of the above benefits plus two tickets to our Annual Gala and invitations to after-hour cocktail events and private collection viewings.
Innovator’s Circle $15,000
Receive all of the above benefits plus four additional tickets to our Annual Gala and invitations to after-hour cocktail events (6 total) and invitation to the annual donor appreciation dinner reception.
