American Fever Book Talk - Newark Public Library

American Fever Book Talk

Join us Tuesday, October 25 for a very special book talk by Newark resident Dur E Aziz Amna.

Named a best book of the summer by USA Today, Harper’s Bazaar, the Christian Science Monitor and others, American Fever is Amna’s debut novel. A coming-of-age story that tackles questions big and small, American Fever follows the path of 16-year-old Hira, a witty narrator who finds herself in an exchange program in rural Oregon negotiating between life in the United States and her life at home in Pakistan. And that’s before she is diagnosed with tuberculosis and must quarantine.

Originally from Pakistan and now living in Newark, Dur e Aziz Amna was selected as a Forbes 30 under 30 in 2022, and won the 2019 Financial Times/Bodley Head Essay Prize. To learn more, you can visit her website at www.dureazizamna.com.
