Please join us on Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 1:00-5:00pm in the James Brown African American Room for an artist talk and reception welcoming the glass sculpture, Makers to the Newark Public Library.
Made out of cast and blown glass by Pittsburgh-based sculptor Dean Allison, Makers tells the story of two young student glassblowers at work in a Newark glass arts studio. Mr. Allison has taught internationally and his work is collected by museums across the country. Makers is Mr. Allison’s largest work. The full sculpture will be unveiled this fall at GlassRoots’ new facilities in the nearby Newark Arts Commons.
Free parking will be available from 12:30-5:00 PM at the Essex County Parking Deck (formerly the Bears / Eagles Stadium Deck) located at 20-54 Bridge Street in Newark.
Please note: Proof of Covid-19 vaccination, ID and the wearing of masks are required for this event.
