As the threat of spreading COVID 19 moves behind us, the Board of Directors for the FoJBAAR agree that this is the perfect time to plan for our yearly in-person General Membership meeting. We have scheduled it for April 20, 2023 at the Newark Public Library in, where else, the James Brown African American Room.
The friends are proud to present special guest Gilda Rogers. Ms. Rogers is the Executive Director of the T. Thomas Fortune Cultural Center, which opened in 2019. She led the grassroots effort to save and preserve the former home of T. Thomas Fortune, a National Historic Landmark, located in Red Bank, New Jersey. Fortune was one of the greatest Black journalists and newspaper editors of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
