You also help promote the Library’s vast resources for children and young adults.
You become an advocate on behalf of The Newark Public Library which helps this important institution gets its fair share of public and private funding and resources.
Friends volunteer and help organize events that promote the Library in the community and beyond. They provide funding for the library to purchase new materials and update essential collections.
Friends’ groups can make the difference between a budget increase and a budget cut for their libraries. Not only that, but effective advocacy campaigns waged by the Friends ensure community support. You can make a long lasting and significant difference for your library through advocacy.

Since 1990, hundreds of individuals, families and businesses have joined the Friends, holding book sales and other programs to raise thousands of dollars for the Library. These funds have purchased new books and equipment and supported special projects.
