Love Thyself: Look in the Mirror
February may be for Valentine’s, but March is for SELF-LOVE!
“Love Thyself: Look in the Mirror” is a 90-minute interactive program designed for library patrons to foster self-love, emotional resilience, and community connection in a supportive environment. Through storytelling, journaling, and self-reflection exercises, participants will learn to cultivate a positive self-image, appreciate their unique qualities, and connect with others. This program, suitable for teens and adults, aligns with the library’s mission to provide educational and empowering resources to patrons of all backgrounds.
Facilitated by Ma’isah, a wellness advocate and survivor of life-altering experiences, the program offers insights and practices for building self-acceptance. Ma’isah’s story of overcoming adversity—including a car accident that led to the loss of her eye, surviving breast cancer, and her journey of self-love—is shared as an inspiring foundation for the program’s activities.
