Join us for an arts workshop as part of The Newark Public Library and The Newark Museum’s Anniversary celebration!
Mansa K. Mussa will instruct students in the design of a folded accordion spiral design book that contains the story of their life’s odyssey, filled with facts, flights of reverie, and brief moments of euphoria.
Participants will incorporate the mediums of collage, drawing, text, graphics, and photographs taken during the workshop. Students will also add geometric shapes, peel and stick graphics, and written text to complete the book.
Free and open to the public. These programs are part of the anniversary celebration of The Newark Public Library and The Newark Museum. The exhibit, Promoting Books and Objects: Empowering Newarkers, will be on view from January 15th to August 31st, 2019.
