14th Annual Women’s International Film Festival- DAY 6 at the Newark Public Library
Join us at the library Saturday August 5th at 10AM in the James Brown African American Room for 3 short films and a breakfast honoring Antionette Ellis-Williams and Deborah Smith Gregory.
Day 6 of the festival features film shorts “The Thread,” (US) works to discover, detangle, and hopefully destroy the intergenerational threads that keep women from fully expressing our creativity; “Tiger Eyes,” (US/Maldives) watches a Muslim woman living her truth, surrounded by sharks; and “Karem Camera” which is the first film made by two Syrian refugee girls. Feature film “Two Faced: Gender Inequality in the Bahamas” provides a glimpse into gender issues in the Bahamas.
