Join us for a staged reading of She Like Girls by Chisa Hutchinson as part of Newark Gay Pride Celebration.<\/p>\n
Yendor Theatre Company Presents She Like Girls. The play “depicts two inner-city high school girls who fall in love in a dangerously homophobic climate.” Hutchinson, who grew up in Newark, NJ, stated, “The immediate trigger for this play was the fatal stabbing of a 15-year old lesbian in Newark \u2026but the play isn’t about murder…it’s more about the urban community, the urban family, and how they respond to homosexuality. People need to hear a voice of love and acceptance every now and then or else they’ll just habituate the hate. Or worse.”
