Her father\u2019s poultry processing plant is the target of both corrupt elements of the Puerto Rican government and the U.S. poultry industry that want to drive it out of business. Teresa doesn\u2019t know how to disclose her news to the family.<\/span><\/p>\n Daniela\u2019s decision to travel to the island and force Teresa\u2019s hand will reveal the many secrets the family has been keeping from each other. It will take some galactic perspective to bring them all together again in this gorgeously filmed drama.<\/span><\/p>\n Extraterrestres premiered at the Puerto Rico Queer Filmfest in November 2016, where it received the Audience Award for Best International Feature Film. Carla Cavina<\/strong> is a Puerto Rican filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and director.\u00a0 From 2003 until 2009, she worked for Proyecto de Comunicaci\u00f3n<\/em>, led by the island\u2019s public broadcasting network, aimed at teaching socially marginalized communities the uses of video and film as a communication tool. She directed over 20 short films under this initiative.
