Additional copies of the book will be available for $12.<\/p>\n Dominican American author, educator, and editor Junot D\u00edaz was born in the Dominican Republic and emigrated with his family to New Jersey when he was six years old.\u00a0 A graduate of Rutgers University, he is the Rudge and Nancy Allen Professor of Writing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and serves as fiction editor at the journal Boston Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n D\u00edaz’s novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao<\/em> was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for fiction and the National Book Critics Circle Award. He has published two short story collections, Drown<\/em> and This Is How You Lose Her<\/em>, which was a finalist for the National Book Award in 2012. He has received a MacArthur Foundation “Genius” fellowship, the PEN\/Malamud Award, Dayton Literary Peace Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, and the PEN\/O. Henry Award. \nTamara B. Rodriguez
\n<\/strong>Tamara B. Rodriguez is the author of Hair to the Queen<\/strong>!<\/em>, an illustrated children’s book that empowers adults to discuss cancer with children in a simple, compassionate way. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, Tamara wanted to talk about the disease with her two young daughters, but struggled to find the right words. To help families start the conversation in a light-hearted and fearless way, Tamara decided to write Hair to the Queen!<\/strong><\/em> which was inspired by her personal experience.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Isaiah (11), Roman (8), Indigo Daniels (7), along with their dad, Jamie, are the debut co-authors of a children’s book series called TDK (The Daniels Kids)<\/strong>. Their debut book is a humorous brotherly rivalry story titled Dolphins Don’t fit in a Fish Bowl<\/strong><\/em>. This Newark family are also budding entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
