Over Here: Newark in World War I, 1917-1918
While World War I raged “over there” in Europe, countless Americans “over here” worked for victory. On the centennial of our nation’s entry into the Great War, this exhibit commemorates Newark’s important contributions to the conflict. See historic photographs, sheet music, pamphlets, posters, and other materials, from the Collections of the Newark Public Library.
Guest Curator George Robb presented a lecture on Thursday, April 6, in Centennial Hall, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with a reception. The lecture was videotaped, and can be viewed on the Library’s YouTube channel.
Lecture cosponsored by the Newark History Society.
