For more than 100 years, the Newark Public Library has been a pillar of our community. Every day, we continue our mission to strengthen and nurture the people and communities that we serve. While we are New Jersey’s largest municipal library system and a resource for hundreds of thousands of books and publications, we are so much more!
We proudly serve everyone in our 21st century library, but we do not do this important work alone. The continued financial support of our donors is what makes our enrichment programming and services possible, and our annual Booked For The Evening dinner gala is the Newark Public Library’s primary fundraising event.
On December 6, 2023, we invite you to join us at Nanina’s in the Park for a fabulous and fun evening to celebrate the contributions of leaders in Newark’s arts scene.
We need your support now more than ever to ensure that we are able to meet the increasing needs of our children, families and community members. Please support our “Booked for the Evening” Gala with a sponsorship, ticket purchase, or journal advertisement. Click here for important information on sponsorship levels and purchasing journal ads.
Your support will go to…
- Art exhibitions, music, dance, and cultural performances that inform and entertain;
- Providing the largest archive of New Jersey history, the largest collection of Spanish-language library resources in the state, and a rich trove of materials related to African-American life, history and culture;
- The construction of a new, centralized New Jersey Hispanic Research and Information Center;
- Providing a welcoming and safe space for free access to computers, homework help, and for our neighbors in need – access to additional supports through a licensed social worker.
On behalf of Newark Public Library, thank you for your investment in enriching the lives of others.
We hope to see you at the gala !
