Join us for a dialogue about “Juice or Gravy,” the afterword to the 25th anniversary edition of Portnoy’s Complaint which was also published in Why Write? The Collected Nonfiction.The discussion will be led by James Duban, professor of English and Associate Dean for Research in the Honors College of the University of North Texas. He has published books about Melville and the Henry James family, with articles appearing in a host of journals, including Philip Roth Studies. He has spent the past decade exploring the impact of Sartre, Heidegger, and Arthur Koestler on the fiction of Philip Roth.
