You are cordially invited to attend The 2022 Philip Roth Lecture The Influence of the 1619 Project in the Fields of American History, Education, and Journalism with Nikole Hannah-Jones and Jelani Cobb.

 

Nikole Hannah-Jones is the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1619 Project at The New York Times Magazine. She has spent her career investigating racial inequality and injustice. Her reporting has earned her the MacArthur Fellowship, a Peabody Award, two George Polk Awards and the National Magazine Award three times.

 

Jelani Cobb is an award-winning writer for The New Yorker and a PBS Frontline correspondent for two critically acclaimed documentaries––Policing the Police and Whose Vote Counts. He is dean of the Columbia Journalism School.
