Requesting Copies of Items in Our Digital Collections
Low resolution of photos and documents in our Digital Collections can be downloaded using the website. You may request high resolution images using the steps below.
Al images from The Newark Public Library collection are copyright © protected and may not be reproduced in any way without permission from The Newark Public Library. Commercial use of images is subject to service fees. We require that all images be credited to The Newark Public Library. Note that it is the patron’s responsibility to determine copyright of photos.
Required Forms
Please send a link to the image you are requesting to njreference@npl.org along with form.
Fees
Processing Fee:
- Non-profit personal use: $4.00
- For profit use: $8.00
- CD/DVD (Optional): $3.00
Usage Fee:
- Private/Non-profit use: No fee
- Commercial/For-profit use: Fees start at $35. See Photo Application Form for Publishing above.
In some cases, donations of a completed book or film will be accepted in lieu of a usage fee. Please contact njreference@npl.org to discuss this option.
Payment
Credit card:
- Call the library at 973-733-7775. You will receive your scans as soon as they are ready.
Check:
- Make out to Newark Public Library and mail to 5 Washington St Newark, NJ 07102. You will not receive scans until we receive the check.
