Celebrate Veterans Day: Talk and Exhibit Opening
Join us for a special Veterans Day program at the library featuring a talk by Dr. Larry Greene, Professor of History at Seton Hall University. His talk, Black Veterans Through America’s Wars: Service, Sacrifice, and Aspirations, highlights the history, experiences, and lasting contributions of Black service members.
The event also marks the opening of Adjusting the FOCUS: The Vietnam War Through the Lens of Black Combat Photographer Dwight Carter, co-curated by Robert C. Tucker III and Emily Konopinski presented by Green Door Studio. The exhibit features powerful images that capture the courage, resilience, and humanity of Black soldiers during the Vietnam War. It will be on view on the 2nd floor, in the hallway outside the James Brown African American Room, through December 31.
This free, public program is open to all, and visitors are invited to explore the exhibit before or after the talk.
